Additional FeesFees will be added throughout the year for auditions, contests, tests, festivals, etc. in which students may participate. Fees will always be assessed with the parent’s full knowledge and consent. Fees for events must be paid by the teacher weeks in advance and therefore are non-refundable. Participation in extra activities is optional, but encouraged on an individual basis. Music will be purchased by the teacher and added to the statement for reimbursement.
Online Lessons: When it is deemed necessary for health and safety of student and teacher, online lessons may be requested by parents and/or teacher. In preparation for online lessons, pleas ensure that internet connections and devices are functional and connected at the student's scheduled lesson time, and that students have all materials available. Please notify the teacher in advance if you would like online instruction. |
Practice and Make-up PolicyStudents are expected to practice for the time requested by the teacher on a daily basis in order to make the best progress possible. Students who do not practice consistently and show lack of interest and commitment may not be allowed to remain in the studio.
Missed lessons will not be made up except in the case of extended illness. If you need to cancel a lesson, please call or e-mail as early as possible before the scheduled lesson; in some cases arrangements can be made to switch times with another student. Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up. |
Registration and CalendarThere is a $50.00 registration fee per student. This fee covers membership dues in Student Affiliates (the student organization of the Texas Music Teachers Educational Foundation), online resources, recital hall rental, assignment books, and other materials used throughout the year.
The normal public school holidays will be observed, with the exception of Monday holidays, when lessons will be given. A detailed calendar is issued at the beginning of the school year. Please consult this on a regular basis. It may be found on the back of the student’s assignment folder and on the website. |
